ROTARY CLUB OF ROCHFORD PRESS RELEASE – 24 AUGUST 2022
HARP BENEFITS FROM ROTARY CLUB OF ROCHFORD GOLF DAY
The Rotary Club of Rochford has made a £1,500 donation to HARP, which is the leading Southend charity helping local people overcome homelessness for good and is one of the Club’s designated charities for its Charity Golf Day, held in June.
Brian Hunt, Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club is pictured presenting the cheque to Lisa Walton, Community Fundraiser at HARP. The second photo shows Keith Holdsworth, Club Secretary and one of the principal organisers of the event, with Lisa and Brian.
HARP helps over 1,000 people a year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. Everyone that walks through their doors can talk through the issues they are facing in their own time in a warm and safe place where trained staff are on hand to provide support and link people to the right services. Their pathway covers three steps from early support and planning, helping with life skills and preparing for moving on from HARP.
Rotarian Brian Hunt, said: “It was my pleasure, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Rochford to present the cheque to HARP, in recognition of the tremendous work they do locally to support those less well off than ourselves”.
