This is a meeting note from what was discussed at the Christmas Working Party this week

Christmas Working Party Meeting
Wednesday 31st January 2024 @ 6pm
Rochford Parish Hall.
Last night we had our first Christmas Working Party Meeting
5 Councillors, 4 members of the public and 2 staff members attended the meeting.

The following was discussed;
The market stalls will be at nil cost to the Parish Council.
The Day Centre would be open for food and drinks and will hold the children’s crafts.
We will continue to have children’s rides and food stalls.
We would considering having a small stage/platform in the middle of the square for carols/songs round the tree.
Consider moving the stalls to Rochford Square and having a smaller event.
To keep the grotto and the Rotary Club Sleigh – think about moving them outside the Kings Head.
To try find the property owners of South Street and North Street to ask permission for Christmas light fixings to be changed, in line with Health & Safety regulations – so that we can hang festoons. Alternatively, to consider lights on lamp posts.
To add extra lights in Rochford Square.
Keep the lights in Bradley Way, find out how much it would be to upgrade them.
To investigate sourcing a real Christmas tree locally, whether it be cut or potted, or smaller.

All suggestions will be discussed at the next Community Projects Meeting on Wednesday 21st February 2024
