Our next meeting will be a Zoom presentation on Monday 11 April, 19:30 for 20:00
Lawrence Woodward, OBE, Beyond GM, is doing an introductory presentation covering:
– briefly what gene editing is and the threat it poses to organic farming, growing and food, plus mentioning why some people think it might help with sustainability
– update on regulation status, field trials and the government’s undemocratic approach
– what this means for gardeners and growers in terms of seeds, plant materials and contamination
– and, if there is time, talk about how genome science is giving some insights into how wholistic systems may actually be working.
