Rochford District Community Response Hub

Faith, community and partner organisations have come together to set up a ‘Rochford District Community Response Hub’ helpline, to ensure everyone can access help and support throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.

This helpline is available on 01268 779999, and offers support to those who do not have friends or family nearby, or local support networks. This initiative has been set up by the MegaCentre, churches, Rayleigh, Rochford and District Association for Voluntary Service (RRAVS), Rochford District Council and a number of local volunteers from across the district, who have all signed up to support where they can, any resident that needs to talk.

Citizens Advice 

We have been advised by Citizens Advice Rochford & Rayleigh that they will be closing face to face Services in their offices from Mon 23 March.  Advice also remains available at 0300 330 2101 and www.citizensadvice.org.uk

Essex Coronavirus Action

A new Facebook page has been launched to help Essex residents during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Essex Coronavirus Action is a collaboration between Essex County Council, The Essex Public Health Team, and local Facebook group administrators. It will offer;

  • A service to ASSIST vulnerable members of your local community who may need help if they are self-isolating through putting them and their carers/families in touch with individuals or agencies who can assist.
  • Advice to help PREVENT people from undertaking activities which may put them at risk.
  • Content to INFORM people on updates to the official advice and counter any misinformation.

Registration is now OPEN for any residents or businesses who want to volunteer in their local area. Via the forms below, details will be passed directly to the group or groups that are operating near to you:

The key aim is to rapidly build a large database of volunteers to support those in Essex who will need the support of their wider community.

The page has been ‘Blue Ticked’ by Facebook which indicates its official status.

Essex Wellbeing Service         

This new service is a single, convenient point of contact for anyone in the Essex area who is in urgent need of help during the Coronavirus outbreak. It is also the place to report anyone who you are concerned about.

MegaCentre Rayleigh 

Provides support to local children, families and young people. Join their Facebook page to keep in touch with what they are doing to support the community.

United in Kind

This is made up of hundreds of community, charity and voluntary groups who support people who feel lonely or isolated 

United in Kind Coaches – will be able to help with local community support available

Support for the extremely vulnerable 

Register for coronavirus support on GOV.UK if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food.
